Long hot summers on the farm where Cindy Revell grew up meant days filled with building rickety tree forts, swimming in the river, picking wild flowers and playing with her cats and dogs. She found time to read, draw and day dream with her rich imagination. Eventually those things would find their way into her art.

Cindy’s imagination and a diploma in graphic design led her to illustrate children’s books, magazines, books and packaging all across North America. Exploration brought her to the fine art she creates today.

The pistachio colour of aspen trunks in the rain, birds flitting about her pond and old-fashioned flowers that she grows in her garden - simple things, are all inspirations for Cindy. She also finds it in the old masters, folk, naïve art and global patterns.

Still a dreamer, her imagination spills onto her oil paintings. Flowers, creatures and pattern come together in an exuberant mix to create the vibrant worlds her characters live in. A menagerie of colourful creatures not usually found together converges in her paintings, suggesting the interconnectedness of all things. Even the flowers who seem to nod to one another in recognition.
