Heather Wheeler – In Memory

With management experience and the wisdom of mentors she valued deeply, Heather opened her first art gallery in 2000 in Downtown Victoria. In 2002, she expanded and founded The Avenue Gallery in prestigious Oak Bay Village. Heather felt blessed to be surrounded by spectacular art, artists and art lovers as well as to live and own a business in Victoria.

In December 2021, The Avenue Gallery was honoured to be named ‘Best Art Gallery’ in the Times Colonist Readers’ Choice Awards. In January 2022, not long after receiving this special recognition, Heather sadly passed away. Her husband, Larry, and the gallery staff are carrying on with Heather’s tradition of representing some of Canada’s finest artists.

Recently celebrating her semi-retirement and 19th year at the gallery, Catherine’s boundless enthusiasm makes us smile.
