My aim is to create a story with each of my designs to spark a conversation that mirrors a personal experience, family story, memory or inspiration that lies embedded in my jewellery. I am intrigued by coloured, interesting gems placed in juxtaposition to a carefully chosen texture combined with a design application like foldforming that complete an original design. My inspirations often come from my travels, nature and art that have influenced me throughout a design finding process. – Andrea Roberts
Sterling Silver, drop-shaped Garnet, 18kt. Yellow Gold, size 8.25
Around The Corner
Oil on canvas 48 x 24
The ruggedness of the landscape here in BC never ceases to amaze me. The dramatic verticals of the slopes that dive into the water and leave only a slender path, still have enough soil to support the towering trees. It all feels at once humbling and majestic, and I am always curious as to what could be around the corner. – Maria Josenhans
Free & Unfettered
Oil on canvas 36 x 36
Drawing from my recent trips to Salt Spring Island where I spent many days painting mostly on the northern shores, Free & Unfettered, is an expression of the feeling I get of the wide open space that surrounds me and is filled with wind, moisture and sun… a wonderful feeling of openness and freedom. – Maria Josenhans

The Tulip Vase was designed with tulips in mind, but most flowers look great in this shape because they fan out naturally. – Lisa Samphire

The end of the music is usually the climax of the song, the moment when the sun sinks below the horizon, and it is the most beautiful part of the day. – William Liao
