A few years ago, my wife Nadine and I were in Florence, Italy. Walking through the beautiful narrow streets we walked past an old stone church and heard gorgeous, young voices coming from inside. They were rehearsing for a concert that night. Of course, we went to the concert.
That night I not only heard the music, I saw the music swirl around us. I will never forget the experience. It was a few years later that I remembered that fortunate experience and knew I had to put it in sculpture. – Maarten Schaddelee
Timber Talk, An Anderson Study
Oil on canvas 8 x 10
Tanya works with traditional media and classical methods, and is moved to create paintings that induce a re-appreciation of traditional realism and touch upon timeless and universal themes.

My aim is to create a story with each of my designs to spark a conversation that mirrors a personal experience, family story, memory or inspiration that lies embedded in my jewelry. I am intrigued by coloured, interesting gems placed in juxtaposition to a carefully chosen texture combined with a design application like foldforming that complete an original design. My inspirations often come from my travels, nature and art that have influenced me throughout a design finding process. – Andrea Roberts

My sculptures are playful and quirky and often place the subjects in unlikely situations. Birds are riding when they can fly; polar bears sailing when they can swim. Many of my characters act against their usual instincts; sweet lions and fierce rabbits. All are meant to have us pause and consider all we have in common with our fellow creatures. – Carolyn Houg
