DEREK KASPER
Alchemical Jar
Ceramic 17 x 9
$550
Alchemy, noun
the medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter. It was concerned particularly with attempts to convert base metals into gold.
The ‘Alchemical Jar’ was essentially a process of reverse archaeology whereby the imagined medieval jar had some evidence of successful transformation to gold within, and evidence of age and the corrosive properties of the transformation, without. – Derek Kasper
Eccentricity
Ceramic 16.5 x 4.75
$400
A challenging rippling oval form thrown on the wheel at high speed, marked with the signs of rippling waves and nautilus patterns and the wash of retreating waves over shining sand. – Derek Kasper

GUY HOLLINGTON
Basket Weave
Glass 14 x 9 x 3.5
$1100
This piece plays on the simplicity of a simple rectangle to create a complex pattern that evokes the pattern of a woven basket. Patterning in three dimensions requires that the image works through all the curves of the piece. Placing this piece in strong horizontal light will create interesting refractions on the surface behind the piece. – Guy Hollington
Scintillation
Glass 11.5 x 8 x 3
$950
This vase was designed to scintillate the senses. Placed in direct light its intricate patterning will reflect and refract light to create complex and unique secondary patterns in its wake. – Guy Hollington
