PHILIP MIX
Morning Moor
Oil on linen 28 x 36
$3500
Every foray into the abstract realm requires a fun tactical gambit. How much reality should I omit, what can stay? Can an isocline mean one thing vertical and another when run horizontally? If the shape of a sail, normally depicted white, is filled with shadow, does the anomaly jar or intrigue? And finally, there is the most important question: is it convincing? Can I step into it and fly, or sail, away? You decide; after all, the horizon is a hands breadth at most. Hey, I thought abstracts were flat, hmmm? – Philip Mix
Reach
Oil on linen 28 x 22
$2100
My desire is to produce an artwork that is beautiful for its singleness of purity and purpose: the elegance of simplicity. I choose subjects whose form or function lends itself to the discovery of some intrinsic beauty; a beauty that becomes intriguing once the inherent grace of its form has been recognized and captured. – Philip Mix
Sheets
Oil on linen 28 x 22

Pots and sculptures express my understanding of the world, of how I see the inside world, the outside world. The more I know my home in these two worlds (which are after all, one), the more awareness I am able to bring to the making of the pieces. – Sandra Dolph

So You Say
Acrylic and charcoal on canvas 36 x 36
$1900
My work is always changing, which gives me the pleasure to experiment and to move forward. I work and re-work my paintings until I reach the point when I feel that they express just the right amount of layering, structure and depth. The final colour constellations invite the viewer to find their own personal experience of my pieces. I believe that that’s what art should do. – Marianne Meyer
