Shipping Information

WE SHIP WORLDWIDE

Shipping is available on purchases of wall/flat art valued measuring no more than 150 united inches (length + double width + double depth) and small 3 dimensional sculptures, ceramics and glass to destinations in Canada and the Continental U.S.A. excluding Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico.

  • Canada – $75
  • U.S.A – $175

Oversized and fragile items needing special packaging or crating will be charged an additional fee as follows;

  • Canada – $250*
  • U.S.A. – $350*

* Oversized/fragile rate up to and including 50 lbs. Please contact gallery for shipments over 50 lbs.

Jewellery and small items up to 3 pounds or measuring a maximum 65 square inches (LXWXH) to destinations in Canada and the Continental U.S.A. excluding Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico $25

Local pickup within the City of Victoria is available.

PACKAGING

All purchases will be crated in custom built wood crates or packaged in cardboard shipping boxes (depending on the size and value) and are protected to ensure safe arrival.

PREFERED CARRIERS AND INFORMATION

Purolator Ground / Loomis / Canpar / FedEx Ground / UPS

  • Signature upon delivery is required
  • Packages arrive Monday to Friday during business hours
  • Shipping Tracking number will be emailed to you to enable you to track the progress of your shipment

OVERSIZED ARTWORK

  • Crates or packages exceeding 150 united inches (length + double width + double depth) will be shipped via a preferred freight forwarder.

INSURANCE

  • Insurance is available for a fee of $5.00 per $100.00 up to a maximum value of $2500 and will be charged to the purchaser separately.

DAMAGE – IMPORTANT

  • Upon receipt immediately inspect the shipment and note any damages to the crate or package with the shipping carrier present.
  • Upon opening the crate or package notify The Avenue Gallery immediately of any damaged or defective artwork by calling 1-250-598-2184 or emailing [email protected].
  • The Avenue Gallery is not responsible for damage that occurs during transit with shipping companies, however we will work with the carrier to reach a resolution.

RETURNS

  • We accept returns for exchange or store credit only within 48 hours of receipt.
  • In the event that you are not satisfied with your purchase, an exchange for another piece of art can be arranged.  Contact us immediately at [email protected] or 1-250-598-2184
  • Artwork returned for exchange must be packaged in the same container as it was shipped.
  • All artwork returned for exchange must be received undamaged.
  • Shipping costs are the responsibility of purchaser.

COMMISSIONED AND SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS

  • All artwork commissioned by you and special order items are final sale.

SHIPMENTS WITH-IN CANADA

Local Pickup – City Of Victoria

When purchasing online you can choose to pick it up at our gallery free of charge.

Within BC

GST and PST will be charged on all shipments within British Columbia.

We use a dedicated Art Courier “ArtSchifft” for shipments to major centres in BC and Alberta.

To other provinces

HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) which includes the 5% Federal Portion and the Provincial Portion will be charged as follows, when shipped out the province of British Columbia to:

  • New Brunswick – 13%
  • Newfoundland and Labrador – 13%
  • Nova Scotia – 15%
  • Ontario – 13%
  • Prince Edward Island – 14%

For the following provinces, where the GST (General Sales Tax) and the PST (Provincial Sales Tax) have not be harmonized, the 5% GST portion will only be charged on shipments out of the province of British Columbia:

  • Alberta
  • Manitoba
  • North West Territories
  • Nunavut
  • Quebec
  • Saskatchewan
  • Yukon

All purchases made and shipped within Canada will be packaged and sent within 5 to 10 business days. Delivery will be 10 – 14 days following the shipping date.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

To The U.S.

  • All artwork is exempt from Sales Tax when shipped out of Canada.
  • Original artwork is duty free when shipping into the U.S.
  • A clearance fee is charged by the carrier to declare the artwork for US Customs:
  • $25.00 for the first thousand ($1000) of value, an additional $10.00 for every thousand ($1000)
  • Orders will be delivered within 10 to 15 business days of clearing US Customs.
