Description
Labradorite & Karen Beads Necklace by Andrea Russell
Karen tribal beads are made from fine silver (pure), with a silver content of 97-99%, due to the solder used in their crafting. The Karen, an ethnolinguistic group living along the borders of Thailand and Myanmar, have a rich tradition of silver working. Andrea Russell personally sources these beads while working with Karen refugees in Thailand.
Strung on high-quality, multi-strand, nylon-coated beading wire, the beads should be stored carefully to avoid bends, crimps, or contact between pearls and metal. Regular wear may require an annual jeweller’s inspection to ensure the wire’s integrity.
To protect the beads, avoid exposure to perfumes, lotions, chemicals, and chlorinated water. Clean gently with baking soda, rinse thoroughly, and polish with a jeweller’s cloth.
