LISA SAMPHIRE
Carnival Gooseneck Vase (Teals)
Glass 22.5 x 9 x 4.5
$2000
The Carnival series are celebration and culmination of 35 years of training in glass and knowledge of the material. They are the result of a labour intensive process that requires a lot of technique. Working in series allows me to be able to play with the form, colour and pattern. I love how the linear pattern informs the shape of the pieces and defines its limits. I enjoy the balancing of the process with the aesthetics of the final piece. This new series has resulted in bright, cheery and complex works. – Lisa Samphire
Frosted Abstract Landscape Vase (Lime)
Glass 11 x 11 x 4.5
$950
Transparent flowing shapes unfold in brilliant colours capturing the essence of landscape, in Lisa’s Landscape series.
Tulip Vase (Teal Blue)
Glass 8.5 x 8.5 x 5
$295
The Tulip Vase was designed with tulips in mind, but most flowers look great in this shape because they fan out naturally. – Lisa Samphire

TANYA BONE
Rhododendrons in Silver
Oil on linen 24 x 18
$6000
As a still life artist, all I need do is step out into the backyard garden my husband has created for an abundance of extraordinary inspiration. For me, every bird, flower, tree, fruit and vegetable has the pull and appeal to capture its beauty with an artistic expression. Last year the Rhododendrons’ display was outstanding in mid-May. Juxtaposing the luminous, fragile blossoms against the dark, glossy leaves was a pleasurable challenge. – Tanya Bone
Beauty in the Storm
Oil on Board 8 x 6
$600
This particular Pacific Coast Flycatcher keeps on providing me with inspiration. A muse that offers personal freedom to capture its expressive face with different emotions by experimenting with changed environments and different colours. – Tanya Bone
I Found My Thrill
Oil on Board 6 x 8
$600
Chickadees are becoming my favorite bird to paint. They seem to be curious about everything. I wanted to capture the graceful movements of this lovely bird while it was reaching for a blueberry. – Tanya Bone

BECKY HOLUK
Wash Over Me
Acrylic on canvas 40 x 30
$2500
Becky considers it a blessing to be part of the connection which artwork provides between artist and viewer, and has discovered that hikes and walks in the natural, majestic beauty of the Alberta Foothills, Canadian Rockies and the West Coast are favourite times to ‘observe, record and reflect’ for later artistic pursuits in the studio.
At the End of the Day
Acrylic on canvas 40 x 16
$1660
Becky captures the breathtaking beauty of the world in her distinct and vibrant style. She sees each painting as an opportunity to form a joyful and grateful response in colour and motion to what she has had the privilege to experience.

BILL BOYD
Pearl Vase #619
Ceramic with Crystalline Glaze 16 x 10
$1300
For these pieces I was pursuing the ever-elusive snowflakes and flower petals. I am used to not always getting what I want with this difficult process, but in this case, it was a very good firing. – Bill Boyd
Pearl Bulb #621
Ceramic with Crystalline Glaze 10.5 x 12
$1050

WILLIAM LIAO
Only You
Acrylic on canvas 30 x 24
$2600
Every time the seasons change, it reminds people of the existence of time. Although I have not changed into a lighter wardrobe yet, every evening when I go out for a walk, I notice that the trees on both sides of the street have buds, they are no longer bare. Even through the dusk of evening I can see spring is really coming. – William Liao
In Your Fragrance
Oil on canvas 16 x 20
$1358
Everyone is in a hurry. I always stop and reflect. What is actually worth seeing? The past is over, what will be will be. If this is the case, then we don’t need to rush, we can just linger. – William Liao
Every Sweet Day
Oil on canvas 20 x 16
$1358
What drives me to live is emotion, similar to love. When I look back in the future, my memory will not be a fragment, but a coherent whole. – William Liao

The combination of burnishing clay and firing in a ground pit is not a new idea. The method has been used for centuries. By adding organic materials and metals to the process, many unique, complex and exciting pieces are created.

FEATURE TESTIMONIAL
I stumbled upon the gallery while I was searching online for a particular style of painting. I am so glad I did. Heather and her team are wonderful and so easy to work with. They were willing to work with me on a layaway plan and even shipped the painting to me. The Avenue Gallery is top notch.
